Answer

What is the CarrierStore xCHANGE?

The CarrierStore xCHANGE is an online market exchange for shippers and freight carriers that utilizes freight pricing based on supply and demand (not tariff rates). Shippers have access to the best available pricing from our Carrier Group for every available freight lane in the United States via the CarrierStore xCHANGE.

Shippers simply enter their LTL or TL freight specifics on the CarrierStore xCHANGE to automatically receive bids within one hour without the need for a single telephone call to a carrier. Each carrier’s quote is based on their current available capacity and is provided to the shipper as an all-inclusive price with no hidden fees. The CarrierStore xCHANGE provides excellent value to the shipper, allowing direct, automated access to the pricing departments of more than 35 top-tier national and regional carriers.

Answer

What makes CarrierStore the right solution?

We are not a 3PL - our service is free to the shipper, with no obligations and no risks. By eliminating broker fees we can consistently show you savings of up to 25-35%. Ultimately, the price the carrier submits is the price you pay!

Carriers price their freight through the xCHANGE based on dynamic supply and demand. The greater the capacity the greater the savings.

Automating the process of obtaining spot quotes eliminates time-consuming phone calls or e-mails, allowing you to receive multiple spot quotes in the most efficient manner.

The CarrierStore xCHANGE offers a complete solution by eliminating 3PL/broker fees, filling available capacity and providing quotes within an hour. Both the shipper and carrier benefit!

Answer

Why use the CarrierStore xCHANGE instead of going to the Carrier directly?

The shipper benefits by being able to capitalize on our broad range of carrier choice. The xCHANGE offers access to both price and service options from multiple carriers in order to take advantage of a given carrier’s strength and capacity for each shipment opportunity on a given day.

Answer

What geographic area does the CarrierStore xCHANGE service?

CarrierStore xCHANGE provides LTL and TL spot quotes for shipments in the continental U.S. and Alaska.

Answer

How does a shipper obtain freight tracing information?

The shipment status (Planned, In Progress, Awarded, In-Transit, Delivered) can be viewed using the CarrierStore xCHANGE. Any additional questions beyond shipment status are most effectively handled by having the customer deal directly with the carrier. The customer will benefit from the major investments that the Carrier Group has made in this area.

Answer

What happens in the event a weight correction or class change
is applied to the shipment?

The shipper is responsible for providing accurate shipment information (items, weight, class, etc.) at the time of entry. This information will be used to generate the Bill of Lading. Any shipment information that a carrier needs to correct based on incorrect shipper data will result in the shipment being re-rated by the carrier.

Answer

What happens in the event of loss and/or damage?

CarrierStore believes that shippers will minimize the risk of claims as well as ensure on-time delivery by using our Carrier Group. However, in the event a claim situation arises, the individual carrier’s governing General Rules Tariff will determine the standard liability cargo insurance coverage. Claims will be handled directly by the carrier.

Answer

How is the shipment invoiced?

Shippers will receive an invoice directly from the carrier they select to handle their shipment.

Answer

Does CarrierStore provide a Bill of Lading?

Yes – Once a customer enters the shipping information into the CarrierStore xCHANGE system, a Bill of Lading (BOL) with the terms and conditions of the shipment between the carrier and shipper is automatically generated based on the rate selected.
